This test method determines drainage efficiency in EIFS-clad wall assemblies by measuring collected water after a controlled spray test.
ASTM E2273-25 specifies a test method for determining the drainage efficiency of exterior insulation and finish systems (EIFS) clad wall assemblies. The procedure directs a controlled water spray into a prepared slot fault, collects and weighs drained water, and calculates drainage efficiency as a percentage of the water delivered to the test specimen. The standard covers apparatus, flow-rate calibration, test specimen preparation, the test procedure, reporting requirements, and precision and bias information. The current edition was approved March 15, 2025, and published in April 2025.
Application Scope: Use this standard to evaluate water drainage performance in EIFS-clad wall assemblies under the specified laboratory test conditions.
