Earth-moving machinery — Safety — Part 13: Requirements for rollers

This International Standard specifies safety requirements, protective measures, and test methods for rollers used in earth-moving operations.

ISO 20474-13:2008 specifies safety requirements specific to rollers, including single-drum, tandem, combined, three-wheel, pneumatic tire, non-riding, ride-on, remote-control, and towed rollers. It is intended to be used with ISO 20474-1 for general safety requirements and ISO/TS 20474-14 for mandatory national and regional provisions. The standard addresses significant hazards during commissioning, operation, and maintenance, covering operator stations, controls, braking systems, emergency stops, access systems, roll-over protective structures, noise, and vibration. Normative Annex A provides a noise-test code for non-riding and remote-control vibratory rollers with a working width of up to 1 m, while Annex B provides a test code for hand-arm vibration measurements on non-riding vibratory rollers.
