ISO 20474-3:2008 specifies safety requirements and protective measures for loaders as defined in ISO 6165. It is intended to be used with ISO 20474-1 for general earth-moving machinery safety requirements and ISO/TS 20474-14 for mandatory national and regional provisions.
The standard addresses significant hazards and hazardous situations during commissioning, operation, and maintenance. Topics include access systems, operator seats, rear windows, rollover and falling-object protective structures, controls and indicators, guarding, restraint systems, stability, rated load capacity, hydraulic lift capacity, attachments, verification, and information for use.
