The 2019 edition of the ASME Boiler and Pressure Vessel Code, Section VIII, Division 3, establishes alternative requirements for the construction of high-pressure vessels. It covers general requirements, materials, design, fabrication, pressure relief devices, examination, testing, marking, stamping, reports, and records. The code includes provisions for specialized applications such as composite reinforced pressure vessels, impulsively loaded vessels, layered vessels, wire-wound vessels, hydrogen service, autofrettage, and welded vessels.
This publication is intended for engineers, designers, manufacturers, inspectors, testing personnel, and organizations involved in the design, fabrication, examination, and testing of high-pressure pressure vessels.
