summary
This standard specifies methods for determining static and pressure bleeding in fresh concrete specimens with aggregate sizes up to 40 mm.
description
BS EN 12350-13:2026 specifies procedures for measuring static bleeding and pressure bleeding in fresh concrete. The static bleeding method determines bleeding rate and, when required, total bleed by collecting water released from the concrete surface at defined intervals. The pressure bleeding method extracts water from a concrete specimen under a pressure of 1 bar for 3 minutes to determine pressure bleed and estimate maximum settlement. The methods can be performed in a laboratory or on site and include requirements for apparatus, sampling, specimen preparation, testing conditions, calculations, reporting, and precision data.
Application Scope: Suitable for laboratory and on-site testing of fresh concrete specimens with a declared maximum aggregate size of 40 mm or less, including conventional and self-compacting concrete.
