This standard specifies requirements and test methods for automatically closing WC flushing and urinal valves rated PN 10.

BS EN 12541:2026 covers automatically closing hydraulic flushing valves for WC pans and urinals, including single-flush and siphon-action urinals. It specifies marking and identification, dimensional and coating requirements, leak tightness, pressure resistance, hydraulic and flow performance, mechanical endurance, and acoustic characteristics. It also defines test methods and requirements for the atmospheric pipe interrupter integral to WC flushing valves. This 2026 edition supersedes EN 12541:2002 and introduces updated classifications and a 4 L flow rate.
