BS EN 13445-3:2002 is the official English language British Standard implementation of EN 13445-3:2002 for the design of unfired pressure vessels. This part of the EN 13445 series specifies design requirements for unfired steel pressure vessels covered by EN 13445-1:2002 and constructed using steels in accordance with EN 13445-2:2002.
The document covers basic design criteria, corrosion and erosion allowance, load cases, design methods, nominal design stress, shells under internal and external pressure, openings, flat ends, flanges, bolted domed ends, heat exchanger tubesheets, expansion bellows, rectangular pressure vessels, additional non-pressure loads, support design, and simplified and detailed fatigue assessment. It also includes normative and informative annexes addressing weld design, design by analysis, external pressure tolerances, flange alternatives, tubesheet methods, fatigue assessment, and clauses related to EU Pressure Equipment Directive 97/23/EC.
Application Scope: Applicable to engineering design, compliance review, technical reference, procurement, and project documentation for unfired steel pressure vessels and related pressure equipment designed under the EN 13445 series.
