BS EN 13445-6:2026 specifies requirements for the design, materials, manufacturing, inspection, testing, and final assessment of unfired pressure vessels and pressure vessel parts constructed from ferritic or austenitic spheroidal graphite cast iron. It covers vessels with maximum allowable pressures up to 100 bar for gases or liquids in Group 1 or 2 and up to 1,000 bar for liquids in Group 2, with shell wall thicknesses not exceeding 60 mm. The standard includes requirements for service conditions, material testing, nondestructive testing, hydraulic testing, marking, documentation, fatigue assessment, design by analysis, specific cast-cover designs, and experimental cyclic pressure testing. It supersedes EN 13445-6:2021 and BS EN 13445-6:2021.
Application Scope: Use by pressure vessel designers, manufacturers, casting suppliers, inspectors, testing laboratories, and conformity assessment professionals working with spheroidal graphite cast iron pressure equipment in accordance with the EN 13445 series.
