UNE 36065:2000 EX defines requirements for weldable ribbed steel bars with special ductility characteristics used as passive reinforcement in reinforced concrete. It covers steel grades B 400 SD and B 500 SD, including designation, manufacturing requirements, chemical composition, mechanical and technological properties, rib geometry, dimensions, tolerances, testing, delivery forms, identification marks, and conformity conditions.
The standard addresses tensile properties, bend-rebend behavior, bond performance, weldability, fatigue resistance, cyclic loading resistance, nominal dimensions, mass tolerances, sampling, inspection, and acceptance criteria for certified and non-certified products.
Application Scope: Applicable to weldable ribbed steel bars with special ductility characteristics for reinforced concrete reinforcement, especially where enhanced ductility supports structural safety under significant, hard-to-quantify, extraordinary, seismic, plastic design, or force redistribution conditions. It does not apply to other reinforcement products such as standard weldable ribbed bars, prestressing wires, welded mesh, smooth wires, or stainless steel ribbed bars.
