UNE-EN 10083-2:1997 is the Spanish version of EN 10083-2:1991 incorporating Amendment A1:1996. It specifies technical delivery conditions for unalloyed quality steels intended for quenching and tempering, including semi-finished products, bars, wire rod, wide flats, hot-rolled sheets and strips, and forged products. The standard covers steel designations, manufacturing, chemical composition, mechanical properties, heat-treatment conditions, surface quality, dimensional tolerances, inspection, conformity documents, marking, supplementary requirements, equivalent sections for mechanical properties, and comparisons with related international and national steel grades.
Application Scope: Used by steel producers, purchasers, inspectors, mechanical manufacturers, and quality personnel to specify, supply, inspect, and verify unalloyed quality steels for mechanically engineered components subjected to quenching and tempering.
