This standard specifies principles for executing, supervising, inspecting, testing, monitoring, and maintaining in-situ soil mixing works using dry and wet mixing methods.
BS EN 14679:2026 provides requirements and guidance for the execution of special geotechnical works involving in-situ soil mixing. It covers dry mixing, wet mixing, hybrid mixing, mass mixing, environmental mixing, soilmix columns, panels and walls, and the use of reinforcing elements. The standard addresses execution planning, geotechnical investigation, materials and products, mix design, construction tolerances, mixing equipment and processes, supervision, inspection, testing, monitoring, maintenance, records, health and safety, environmental considerations, and sustainability. It supersedes EN 14679:2005 and complements EN 1997 for geotechnical design. The publication includes informative annexes covering a process flow chart, specimen quality, and method statements.
Application Scope: For geotechnical engineers, specialty contractors, project managers, inspectors, laboratories, and construction organizations involved in soil mixing for earth retention, hydraulic barriers, ground improvement, foundations, contaminated soil treatment, and related geotechnical works.
