BS 10010:2017

What is this standard about?

It sets out guidance for organizations to consistently think about the sensitivity of the information assets that they create, use and share; as well as how to handle them appropriately.

Who is this standard for?

• Any organization that creates, stores, processes and shares information
• Individuals responsible for data protection, information governance and security and document management

Why should you use this standard?

This specification for Information Classification, Marking and Handling (ICMH) schemes will help organizations improve handling of sensitive information, whether it be a prospective sales list, the CEO’s diary or an HR department’s list of leavers. Also a greater awareness of data use throughout a business can help counter the growing threat of cyber-attacks.
