What is BS 11 -Dimensional properties and associated tolerances of railway rails about?
BS 11 discusses the specification for dimensional properties and associated tolerances of railway rails to standardize the quality of railway rails.
BS 11 outlines requirements for the dimensional properties and associated tolerances of railway rails of 24.8 kg/m (50 lb/yd) and greater linear mass which is not specified in BS EN 13674-1 or BS EN 13674-4.
Who is BS 11 -Dimensional properties and associated tolerances of railway rails for?
BS 11 on the dimensional properties and associated tolerances of railway rails is useful for:
- Railway rails manufacturers
- Test centres
- Regulatory authorities
Why should you use BS 11-Dimensional properties and associated tolerances of railway rails?
The rails are the cross-sections shape of a railway rail, perpendicular to its length. All modern rails are hot rolled steel with a cross-section approximate to an l-beam, but asymmetric about a horizontal axis.
BS 11 guideline assists you with the list of figures on BS rail sections, the key to the position of fish bolt holes, and the vertical drilling gauge for 95 RBH rails for dimensional properties and associated tolerances of railway rails.
BS 11 also guides on tolerances on rail section profiles, the position of fish bolt holes, tolerances on fish bolt hole dimensions, tolerances on fish bolt hole positions, and rail straightness measured over 1.5 m, for dimensional properties and associated tolerances of railway rails.
With compliance and obedience to BS 11, you can standardise the quality of railway rails and efficiently assess the associated tolerance of rails.
