What is BS 1133-15 - Tensional strapping guide about?
Strapping is one of the most commonly used means of unitization and bundling in the packaging industry. Strapping is especially used in environments such as bundling together for handling and shipping: newspapers, pipe, lumber, concrete block, etc.
BS 1133-15 specifies properties of tensional strapping which will have a bearing on the choice for particular applications such as tensile strength (including joint efficiency), elongation, conformability, resistance to deterioration, disposability, ease of handling, and resistance to splitting.
BS 1133-15 on tensional strapping applies to packages by semi-automatic, automatic equipment. BS 1133-15 also applies to wooden boxes, crates, solid and corrugated fibreboard packaging cases, bundles, bales, palletized and unitized loads, to manufacturing processes, and as a safety factor in internal handling.
Who is BS 1133-15 -Tensional strapping guide for?
BS 1133-15 on tensional strapping guide is useful for:
- Goods packaging products manufacturers
- Food packaging industries
- The goods packaging and distribution industry
- Quality control professionals
Why should you use BS 1133-15 - Tensional strapping guide?
The right packaging can make all the difference to a product. Strapping is known for its reliability and product protection. Depending on the Load or Product is secured when it comes to securing heavy loads. Strapping serves our purpose best because, in the end, we don’t want any accidents, injuries and damages to the operators and to the products we transport.
BS 1133-15 gives guidance on the selection and use of steel and non-metallic tensional strapping. The steel strapping covers flat band strapping and wire of round, oval or flat section. Non-metallic strapping covers weftless tapes and extruded thermoplastics tapes.
BS 1133-15 reinforce and strengthens packages, protecting them against the hazards of transportation, thus assisting and ensuring a safe arrival at destination. BS 1133-15 allows economies to be affected in load constructions and on other packaging materials. Following BS 1133-15 guidelines help you to bundle products together and secure pallet loads during transport and storage.
