What is BS 1571-2 - Testing for air compressors and exhausters about?
BS 1571-2 is a British standard that specifies acceptance tests for positive displacement air compressors and exhausters, the absolute intake pressures of which exceed approximately 1 mbar1).
In establishing the scope of BS 1571-2 a positive displacement compressor is considered as a machine where a static pressure rise is obtained by allowing successive volumes of air to be aspired into and exhausted out of an enclosed space by means of the displacement of a moving member. BS 1571-2 applies to such machines as reciprocating and rotary compressors.
Who is BS 1571-2 - Testing for air compressors and exhausters for?
BS 1571-2 on testing for air compressors and exhausters is useful for:
- The agricultural industry
- The manufacturing industry
- The oil and gas industry
- The pneumatic industry
- The food and beverages industry
- Testing agencies
Why should you use BS 1571-2 - Testing for air compressors and exhausters?
BS 1571-2 specifies the conditions under which an air compressor or exhauster can be tested provided that a compressor or exhauster of the same series has already been type tested in accordance with Part 1 of BS 1571-2.
Such tests will generally be necessary to verify guarantees given for one or more of the following particulars:
- Capacity
- Shaft input power or specific energy consumption
- Speed
BS 1571-2 provides its users with definitions, units, and symbols and gives the instructions for measuring equipment and methods. BS 1571-2 guides you with test methods and procedures for the positive displacement of air compressors and exhausters. BS 1571-2 ensures high quality, durability, and longer service life.
