What is BS 2567 – Non-powered roller conveyors about?
BS 2567 is a British standard that discusses the specification for non-powered roller conveyors. Non-Powered Roller Conveyors are a versatile way to convey products of various shapes, sizes and weights.
BS 2567 specifies the main dimensions and materials for the rollers, skate wheels and supporting frames for straight and curved sections of fixed and portable non-powered roller conveyors for industrial use.
BS 2567 only covers the sections that are used to make a conveyor system. The maximum permissible loading of any section of a conveyor is dependent on the installation arrangements, which are not standardized. The actual performance requirements of sections or conveyor systems do not form part of BS 2567.
Note: BS 2567 does not cover the safety of roller conveyors.
Who is BS 2567 – Non-powered roller conveyors for?
BS 2567 on non-powered roller conveyors applies to:
- Manufacturer of roller conveyors

Why should you use BS 2567 – Non-powered roller conveyors?
A Roller conveyor is a frame section(s), fitted with rollers, which may be mounted on a stand. The unpowered rollers extend to the width of the frame section(s) and are freely rotatable by the passage of loads on the conveyor.
BS 2567 provides you with various types of constructions for non-powered roller conveyors which include: Roller materials, Skate wheel materials, bearings, frame sections, curved frame sections and assembly. BS 2567 also gives you the technical specification for the quality of roller conveyors which includes: Roller material and width, Conveyor length and width, rollers max and min speed, etc. This helps you in manufacturing better quality roller conveyors in a standardized way.
