What is BS 2922-1 - Bursting strength of paper and board about?
Bursting strength tells how much pressure paper can tolerate before rupture. BS 2922-1 focuses on t determination of the bursting strength of paper and board after immersion in water.
BS 2922-1 specifies a method for the determination of the wet strength of paper and board by measuring its bursting strength after it has been immersed in water for a specified period.
In principle, the method provided in BS 2922-1 is applicable to most kinds of paper and board, provided that an appropriate immersion time is agreed between the interested parties. Different results may be found if the sample is re-tested after a period of time.
Who is BS 2922-1 - Bursting strength of paper and board for?
BS 2922-1 on bursting strength of paper and board is useful for:
- Manufacturers and suppliers of paper
- The paper and board industry
- Paper mills
- Paper manufacturing companies
- Laboratories for paper testing
- Paper analysis researchers
Why should you use BS 2922-1 - Bursting strength of paper and board?
Bursting strength is used to test the strength of the different kinds of paper and paperboard. Bursting strength indicates the quality of the paper and packaging materials. It also tells us, how much stress can be bear by the materials when we applied external pressure.
BS 2922-1 provides you guidance on the sampling and procedure to carry out tests for the determination of bursting strength of wet paper and board test samples. BS 2922-1 also helps to execute test results expression that ensures strength characteristic of paper and estimates the behaviour of the packing in the process of transit like handling, loading and unloading.
BS 2922-1 helps you to measure the bursting strength and allows manufacturers to analyse the strength of the package and ensure that it doesn't get damaged in transit. BS 2922-1 guidelines help to ensure the quality of the paper and board and packaging materials.
