What is BS 3056-1 - Specification for multi-purpose bricks about?
BS 3056-1 is a European standard that is concerned with multi-purpose bricks, which are those that are widely used in many different applications of refractories.
BS 3056-1 specifies the sizes of the following shapes of multi-purpose refractory bricks:
- Squares, splits, tiles, straights, side arch bricks, end arch bricks, and crown bricks
Note1: Information is also given on the combinations of size and material/quality that may be expected to be available, on arch-brick formulae (see Appendix A), on the combinations of sizes required to form circles of various diameters (see Appendix B), and on, information to be supplied by a purchaser (see Appendix C).
Note 2: The tolerances on the sizes are not specified in this Part of BS 3056 and may be the subject of an agreement between manufacturer and purchaser.
Note3: The titles of the publications referred to in this standard are listed on the inside back cover.
Who is BS 3056-1 - Specification for multi-purpose bricks for?
BS 3056-1 on the specification for multi-purpose bricks is useful for:
- Designers of refractory plant
- Refractory bricks manufacturers
- Quality control personnel
Why should you use BS 3056-1 - Specification for multi-purpose bricks?
Refractory brick is frequently used to construct kilns, furnaces, and other high temperature enclosures. The refractory brick reduces heat loss and the chance of an unintended fire.
BS 3056-1 provides you with the design requirements, dimensional changes, size designation, and marking for manufacturing efficient and high-quality refractory bricks. By adopting BS 3056-1 the user can enhance the efficiency and standard of refractory bricks and produce a product that has global acceptance in the market.
BS 3056-1 certifies the compliance of multi-purpose bricks with the specifications and performance determination of the product type, as well as factory production control, for assessment and verification of constancy of performance (AVCP).
