What is BS 3555 - Specification for ring wrenches about?
BS 3555 is a British standard that outlines the dimensional, testing, and other requirements for ring wrenches for metric, unified, and British Standard hexagon bolts, nuts, and machine screws specified in BS 916, BS 1083, BS 1768, BS 1769, BS 1981, BS 3139, BS 3692, BS 4183, BS 4190, BS 4395, ISO 272, and for hexagonal headed bolts of various materials in the aerospace series.
BS 3555 covers hexagon and bi-hexagon double-ended ring wrenches in the following range:
- Metric wrenches 3.2 mm to 60 mm (across flats)
- Unified wrenches 1/4 into 2 in (across flats)
- BS wrenches 1/4 into 1 3/8 in (thread diameter) and Whitworth (large) wrenches, 3/16 into 1! In (thread diameter)
The principal requirements of BS 3555 also apply to single-ended ring wrenches except that the overall length of single-ended ring wrenches is subject to agreement between the purchaser and the supplier.
Who is BS 3555 - Specification for ring wrenches for?
BS 3555 on the specification for ring wrenches is useful for:
- Ring wrenches manufacturers
- Design engineers
Why should you use BS 3555- Specification for ring wrenches?
Ring wrenches are a type of spanners with handle with a handle that has a hole in a particular shape designed to grip a nut or bolt head.
BS 3555 guides you regarding the form, dimensions, material, hardness, finish, torque resistance, and the making of ring wrenches to manufacture high quality and durable ring wrenches.
With obedience and compliance to BS 3555, you can standardize the quality of your ring wrenches. In addition, you can improve the corrosion resistivity of ring wrenches and prolong their durability.
