What is BS 3766 – coolant pumps for machine tools about?
Coolant pumps recirculate a coolant to transfer heat away from an engine that generates heat as a byproduct of producing energy.
BS 3766 is a British Standard that specifies the dimensional requirements and performance of machine tool, a.c. motor-driven vertical spindle centrifugal coolant pumps of the immersed (stem or flange mounted) and side mounted types having capacities of 15 litres/min to 200 litres/min.
Who is BS 3766 – coolant pumps for machine tools for?
BS 3766 on ‘coolant pumps for machine tools’ is useful for:
- The manufacturing industry
- Machine tool manufacturers
- Ball and bearing manufacturers
- Mechanical / production engineers
- Product design engineers / innovation teams
- Quality control / testing personnel
Why should you use BS 3766 – coolant pumps for machine tools?
BS 3766 provides you with pump dimensions as well as minimum pump ratings. Minimum pump ratings have been provided for flange mounted or stem mounted pumps as well as side mounted pumps. Driving motor, designation, and material details have also been provided in BS 3766.
Diagrams illustrating different types of pump designs have been provided for your reference in BS 3766. A graph representing typical minimum performance characteristic has also been provided for your reference.
BS 3766 guidelines help you to design and manufacture coolant pumps so that machines avoid overheating and production continues smoothly.
