1 Scope
This British Standard specifies characteristics of a chromium-nickel-copper-molybdenum corrosion resisting steel supplied in the following forms, and as parts, for general aerospace use:
- a) forging stock and billets and bars for subsequent working: softened, designation S145A;
- b) forgings: solution treated, designation S145C;
- c) forgings: solution treated and precipitated, designation S145G;
- d) black bar for machining: solution treated, designation S145B;
- e) black bar for machining: solution treated and precipitated, designation S145F;
- f) bright bar for machining: solution treated, designation S145D;
- g) bright bar for machining: solution treated and precipitated, designation S145H.
