What is BS 4258-4- Fluorine content of phosphoric acid about?
BS 4258 discusses phosphoric acid for industrial use. BS 4258-4 is the fourth part of the BS 4258 multi-series and discusses the determination of fluorine content.
BS 4258-4 is applicable to products whose fluorine (F) content is equal to or greater than 10 mg/kg.
Who is BS 4258-4- Fluorine content of phosphoric acid for?
BS 4258-4 on determining the fluorine content of phosphoric acid (orthophosphoric acid) for industrial use is useful for:
- Chemical manufacturers
- Fertilizers manufacturers
- Quality control personnel
Why should you use BS 4258-4- Fluorine content of phosphoric acid?
The proportion of fluorine going to the gaseous effluents, in dihydrate reaction conditions, is in the order of 5-10% compared to the initial quantity in the rock. This proportion increases with the phosphoric acid strength and can increase up to 50-60% at a concentration of 45-50% P2O5.
BS 4258-4 provides you with an alizarin complexone and lanthanum (III) nitrate photometric method for the determination of fluorine content of orthophosphoric acid for industrial and food uses.
BS 4258-4 provides you with the reagents and apparatus required for the test method. BS 4258-8 guides you with the procedure and expression of the test method. BS 4258-4 helps you to manufacture high-quality phosphoric acid.
