What is BS 5131-5.4 - Methods of test for Footwear and footwear materials about?
BS 5131-5.4 describes a method for determining the strength of the bond between sole and upper at various points of the sole of finished footwear.
The method described in BS 5131-5.4 is applicable to molded-on and stuck-on soles where the sole is attached directly to the lasted margin of the upper and projects sufficiently beyond the feather line to provide a grip.
Who is BS 5131-5.4 - Methods of test for Footwear and footwear materials for?
BS 5131-5.4 on Methods of test for Footwear and footwear materials is useful for:
- Footwear manufacturers
- The footwear industry
- Footwear design engineers
- Fiberboard manufacturers and suppliers
- Testing laboratories
Why should you use BS 5131-5.4 - Methods of test for Footwear and footwear materials?
In peeling tests, adhesion properties of film bonded to substrates are tested under tensile tension and the peel strength is a measure of adhesive strength (also called adhesive fracture toughness).
BS 5131-5.4 provides methods and procedures for measuring the strength, durability and resistance of complete footwear. The test method outlined in BS 5131-5.4 helps in increasing the life of footwear at different climatic conditions.
BS 5131-5.4 provides testing methods for determining the sole bond peeling strength of complete footwear and benefits the footwear manufacturers to set standardized quality check for every footwear.
BS 5131-5.4 provides you with apparatus, sampling, transport, storage, and preparation of test joints, pre-treatment of test pieces, test procedure, and much more.
Using BS 5131-5.4 you can get help in determining the durability and strength and can manufacture superior quality footwears.
