What is BS 5339- Hazen units of liquid chemical products about?
BS 5339 specifies a method of measuring the colour in Hazen units of the liquid chemical products.
BS 5339 is applicable only to clear, slightly coloured liquids for which the colour characteristics are close to those of the reference of the platinum cobalt scale. Such colour characteristics are generally described as brownish-yellow.
Who is BS 5339- Hazen units of liquid chemical products for?
BS 5339 on method of measuring the colour in Hazen units of the liquid chemical products is useful for:
- Chemical Manufacturers
- Chemical engineers
- Testing laboratories
Why should you use BS 5339- Hazen units of liquid chemical products?
The Hazen colour test uses a Pt/Co solution and was developed for water treatment facilities where the colour of water could be used as a measure of the concentration of dissolved and particulate material. The slight discolouration is measured in Hazen units (HU).
BS 5339 provides you with reagents and apparatus required for the test method. BS 5339 guides you with the preparation of standard colourimetric solutions. BS 5339 guides you with the procedure and test report. BS 5339 helps you to identify discolouration in liquid chemical products.
