What is BS 5510 - Maximum speeds of agricultural wheeled tractors about?
BS 5510 is an international standard that covers maximum speeds of agricultural wheeled tractors, enabling the calculation and disclosure of maximum speeds in tractors which is useful for operators and logistics services.
BS 5510 specifies a method for calculating the maximum design speed and a method for measuring the maximum travel speed of agricultural wheeled tractors.
Who is BS 5510 - Maximum speeds of agricultural wheeled tractors for?
BS 5510 on maximum speeds of agricultural wheeled tractors applies to:
- Manufacturers of agricultural tractors
- Dealers and importers of agricultural tractors
- Testing houses for agricultural tractors
- Safety assurance services
Why should you use BS 5510 - Maximum speeds of agricultural wheeled tractors?
Tractor speed can vary depending on various factors such as tractor gear, fuel, load, road condition etc. Testing tractor speed in artificial conditions will yield different values as compared to real operations. Hence, the determination of actual speeds is essential information for tractor operators.
BS 5510 provides users guidance on a method for calculating the maximum design speed and a method for measuring the maximum travel speed of agricultural tractors. BS 5510 also provides users with a step-by-step procedure for the method, enabling users to do the method correctly.
BS 5510 provides users guidance on maximum design speed calculation, test requirements, test roadway, test procedure, and test report, enabling users to accurately determine the travel speed of agricultural wheeled tractors.
With obedience and compliance to BS 5510, users can assess the speed of agricultural wheeled tractors to assess consistency, performance and efficiency in agricultural applications.
What’s changed since the last update?
