What is this BS 5677 - Method for pressure calibration of one-inch standard condenser microphones about?
BS 5677 discusses the method (precision) for pressure calibration of one-inch standard condenser microphones by the reciprocity technique to enhance the accuracy of the condenser microphones.
BS 5677 describes the calibration of one-inch condenser microphones used as laboratory standards.
BS 5677 is restricted to reciprocity pressure calibration by the coupler method.
Who is BS 5677 - Method for pressure calibration of one-inch standard condenser microphones for?
BS 5677 on method for pressure calibration of one-inch standard condenser microphones is useful for:
- Product design engineers
- Quality control personnel
- Condenser microphones manufacturers
- Condenser microphones test personnel
Why should you use BS 5677 - Method for pressure calibration of one-inch standard condenser microphones?
Condenser microphones are best used to capture vocals and high frequencies. They are also the preferred type of microphone for most studio applications. Also known as capacitor microphones, condenser mics are used in studios because of their detail and accuracy.
A reciprocity calibration of microphones may be carried out either by means of three microphones, two of which must be reciprocal or by means of an auxiliary sound source, and two microphones, one of which must be reciprocal.
BS 5677 specify methods of measuring certain characteristics of standard condenser microphones with the highest obtainable accuracy so that exchanges between testing authorities are clearly expressed.
The methods provided by BS 5677 assist you in improving the performance and quality of the condenser microphone. With obedience and compliance to BS 5677, you can enhance the condenser microphone’s effectiveness and efficacy and manufacture a standardized product.
