What is BS 6049-1-Preparation of the ground sample of the known dry matter content of tea about?
BS 6049 is a British standard on methods of test for tea that discusses the preparation of the ground sample of the known dry matter content of tea to enhance the quality of tea.
BS 6049-1 is the first part of the BS 6049 series that specifies a method of preparing a ground sample of tea and of determining its dry matter content, for use in analytical determinations which require the results to be expressed on a dry basis.
Who is BS 6049-1-Preparation of the ground sample of the known dry matter content of tea for?
BS 6049-1 on the preparation of the ground sample of the known dry matter content of tea is useful for:
- Tea manufacturers
- Food scientists
- Food technologists
- Food laboratories
- Food health and safety departments
Why should you use BS 6049-1-Preparation of the ground sample of the known dry matter content of tea?
Dry matter is defined as the matter remaining when a ground sample of the product is heated to constant mass under the conditions specified.
BS 6049-1 provides you with guidance on apparatus, sampling, preparation of the ground sample, determination of the dry matter content of the ground sample, preparation of weighing bottle, test portion, determination, expression of results, method of calculation and formula, etc.
The method and procedure provided by BS 6049-1 assist you in the determination of the dry matter content of the ground sample of tea, determining the identity, the concentration, or the properties of tea and enhancing the calibre and subsistence of tea.
With obedience and compliance to BS 6049-1, you can enhance tea’s effectiveness and efficacy and manufacture a standardized high-quality product.
