What is BS 6069-4.4– Characterization of air quality about?
BS 6069-4.4 specifies a complete set of values of performance characteristics for automated measuring systems for the continuous measurement of the mass concentrations of sulfur dioxide in stationary source emissions.
BS 6069-4.4 is applicable to extractive and non-extractive automated sulfur dioxide measuring methods. For both methods it implies the applicability of zero and calibration gas and the availability of comparable samples.
NOTE 1 If the performance characteristics of an automated measuring system are listed according to Table 1, this ensures that the automated measuring system is reliable and gives satisfactory continuous results.
NOTE 2 Although it is impossible to give precise testing details, the requirements and testing principles are also applicable to non-extractive systems.
Who is BS 6069-4.4– Characterization of air quality for?
BS 6069-4.4 on ambient air is relevant to:
- Manufacturers of air quality controlling devices such as diffusers
- Researchers and scientists
- Chemical Engineer
- Environmentalists
Why should you use BS 6069-4.4– Characterization of air quality?
Organic components which have the same or nearly the same retention time as the substance analyzed during the gas chromatographic analysis will interfere. Interferences can be minimized by proper selection of gas chromatographic columns and programme conditions.
BS 6069-4.4 specifies requirements and test methods for the determination of the mass concentration of sulfur dioxide.
BS 6069-4.4 describes the performance characteristics of automated measuring methods and sets the relevant minimum criteria required for determining the concentration of sulfur dioxide.
In BS 6069-4.4, performance criteria and test procedures for measuring air quality are provided to test. This helps create an improved solution to deal with harmful gasses emitted by stationary sources, which are very toxic.
As a whole, BS 6069-4.4 is a best practice guidance standard that provides complete requirements and test procedures for determining constituent properties using different methods and controlling their quality, which will reduce pollution, increase efficiency, and ease health concerns.
