What is BS 6094-1 - Pulp beating in paper making process about?
The beating is a preliminary step in testing the physical properties of pulp. The beating of the pulp process helps to achieve the desired quality of the paper.
BS 6094-1 specifies a method, using a Valley beater, for the laboratory beating of pulp. The description is limited to the furnishing and beating of the stock, the withdrawal and distribution of samples, and the beating equipment. A measured amount of pulp of specified stock concentration is beaten between the bars of the roll and the bedplate of a Valley beater. Samples of beaten pulp are taken at intervals during the beating.
BS 6094-1 is applicable to all kinds of pulp. BS 6094-2 specifies a method of laboratory beating using a PFI mill and BS 6094-3 specifies a method using a Jokro mill.
Who is BS 6094-1 - Pulp beating in paper making process for?
BS 6094-1 on pulp beating in paper making process is useful for:
- The paper and pulp industry
- Pulp mills
- Paper and pulp manufacturing companies
- Suppliers and manufacturers of paper and pulps
- Laboratories for pulp testing
- Pulp analysis researchers
- Quality control personnel
Why should you use BS 6094-1 - Pulp beating in paper making process?
The beating of pulps is probably the most fundamentally important process in papermaking. The purpose of pulps beating is to increase the strength of the produced paper.
BS 6094-1 provides you with methods for laboratory beating of pulps using the valley beater method. The aim of standardization of laboratory beating is to develop a pulp test method which is internationally acceptable, and which allows the energy consumption during beating to be measured.
BS 6094-1 guides you with methods of preparing pulp extracts for sampling, beating procedure, and test results expression. BS 6094-1 also provides you guidance on the use of equipment in order to achieve consistency of results with each instrument.
Following the guidelines provided in BS 6094-1 helps you to improve the strength of the paper and you will be able to achieve the desired quality of the paper.
