What is BS 6319-7- Tensile strength of resin based mortar and concrete about?
BS 6319 is a British Standard series that discusses the testing of resin and polymer/cement compositions for use in construction. The main aim of the BS 6319 series is to provide best industry testing methods to determine whether the construction materials to be used for your civil engineering works, are fit for purpose.
BS 6319-7 is the seventh part of the BS 6319 series that describes a method for measurement of the tensile strength of resin based mortars and concretes cast in the form of dumb-bell shaped briquette test specimens.
Note: This method is not applicable to unfilled systems, or to materials having fibrous constituents or to materials containing a filler that will not pass through a 3.35 mm test sieve as specified in BS 410.
Who is BS 6319-7- Tensile strength of resin based mortar and concrete for?
BS 6319-7 on the tensile strength of resin-based mortars and concrete is relevant to:
- Manufacturers of resins and thermosetting polymers used for construction purposes
- Cement manufacturing companies
- Construction industry
- Contractors
- Civil engineers
- Quality control and testing personnel
Why should you use BS 6319-7- Tensile strength of resin based mortar and concrete?
Determining the physical properties and performance of resin-based materials is vital to achieve the required adhesion, strength, and thermal and corrosion resistance, for the structural integrity of your construction projects.
BS 6319-7 walks you through the methods to measure the tensile strength of resin based mortars and concrete.
Overall, compliance with BS 6319-7 measurement methods can be beneficial for quality control and comparative purposes and can assist you in improving the overall design mix for optimal concrete performance.
