What is BS 6620-1- Industrial plate screens about?
BS 6620-1 is an international standard that discusses the guidelines for good quality industrial plate screens.
BS 6620-1 describes three patterns using round (circular) and square perforations in low carbon steel plates of 3 mm thickness and above; the sizes of holes range from 125 to 3.15 mm inclusive.
BS 6620-1 prescribes five ratios of the pitch to the hole, which results in nominal areas ranging from about 64 to 23 %. It also gives the tolerances for both hole and pitch.
Note: Measurements of the size of holes and pitch in perforated are made at the punch side of the plate as described in tests 2 and 3 of ISO 3310-2.
Who is BS 6620-1- Industrial plate screens for?
BS 6620-1 on industrial plate screens is relevant to:
- Manufacturers of industrial plate screens
- Exporters and suppliers of industrial plate screens
- Designers of industrial plate screens
- Construction and mining industries
- Industries of breweries, food service
- Agricultural industries
- Testing authorities
Why should you use BS 6620-1- Industrial plate screens?
Industrial plate screens are used in industries for separation and thickening and screening purposes. Even though BS 6620-1 provides a diversity of choice, it is unlikely that every one of the many possible combinations of the size of the hole, pitch, and plate thickness are manufactured. The selection for national standards for industrial plate screens is made from those combinations which suit the products and screening methods in the country concerned.
BS 6620-1 serves the purpose to provide guidance for the development of national standards for industrial plate screens.
BS 6620-1 illustrates three permissible arrangements of holes that present you with the three patterns using round (circular) and square perforations in low carbon steel plates of 3 mm thickness and above; including the sizes of holes ranging from 125 to 3.15 mm.
BS 6620-1 also discusses the plates made of other steels and non-ferrous metals, that require different specifications apart from sizes of holes.
Industrial plate screens described in BS 6620-1 are designated by:
- Shape of holes
- Size of holes
- Arrangement and orientation of holes
- Pitch of holes
Overall, BS 6620-1 is useful as it is your perfect guide for screens of thickness 3 mm and above that can be beneficial for your business of industrial plate screens and can also help you to expand your business globally.
