What is BS 6913-4 - service instrumentation for earth-moving machinery about?
Earthmoving equipment speeds up civil engineering or building projects and reduces the amount of manpower needed. Servicing and maintaining these machines is vital to their optimum performance. BS 6913-4 is an International Standard that discusses the operation and maintenance of earth-moving machinery.
BS 6913-4 is the fourth part of the multi-series that sets forth, for guidance, a list of diagnostic instruments to check earth-moving machinery at the worksite.
BS 6913-4 applies to crawler and wheel tractors, crawler and wheel loaders, and hydraulic excavators; but can be easily extended to apply to other basic earth-moving machines such as graders, tractors scrapers, and dumpers.
Note: Service instruments use of which involve major machine disassemblies or which are more suitable for use in the workshop are purposely excluded from this list.
Who is BS 6913-4 - service instrumentation for earth-moving machinery for?
BS 6913-4 on service instrumentation for earth-moving machinery is useful for:
- Manufacturers and suppliers of earthmoving machinery
- Maintenance personnel
- Product design engineers
- Mechanical engineers
- Owners and operators of earthmoving machinery
- Contractors
- Project managers
- Quality control and testing personnel
Why should you use BS 6913-4 - service instrumentation for earth-moving machinery?
On-site maintenance and testing of earth-moving machinery is a key aspect of keeping it in top-condition. BS 6913-4 ensures that earth-moving machines are designed with proper accessibility and necessary connections in order to make it possible to perform these checks in an easy way, using portable instruments.
BS 6913-4 helps to keep earth-moving machinery serviced during the operations, ensuring that projects proceed smoothly and without delays.
