What is BS 7494-1- Narrow-band command system specifications about?
BS 7494 is a British standard that discusses the performance and testing of tele-protection equipment for power systems. BS 7494-1 is the first of the multi-part series that applies to narrow-band single-signal and multi-signal equipment for teleprotection.
BS 7494-1 also applies to voice frequency equipment that is used in connection with various telecommunication systems, such as power line carriers (PLC), radio links, rented circuits, and leased or owned cables.
Who is BS 7494-1- Narrow-band command system specifications for?
BS 7494-1 on narrow-band command system specifications is useful for:
- Power system manufacturers
- Narrow-band command system manufacturers
- Design engineers
Why should you use BS 7494-1-Narrow-band command system specifications?
Narrow-band systems include audio frequency systems operating within a 4 kHz maximum band, and PLC channels within a maximum of 4 kHz bandwidth (for one direction of transmission).
BS 7494-1 assist you with general equipment interface requirements, specific power supply requirements, and requirements for the tele-protection system performance for improving the performance of narrow-band command systems.
BS 7494-1 also guides you with methods for performance testing for testing channels used for transmitting signals related to the command information required by the protective devices in power systems.
With obedience and compliance to BS 7494-1, you can enhance the performance of narrow-band single-signal and multi-signal equipment for teleprotection for power systems.
