What is BS 7755-3.11– Soil quality about?
BS 7755-3.11 specifies procedures for the preparation of water and acid extracts of air-dried soils and soil-like materials. The sulfate content of these extracts is determined by a gravimetric method in which barium chloride is added to the water or acid extract and the precipitate of barium sulfate is dried and weighed.
The sulfate content is then calculated from the mass of the material used in the analysis and the mass of barium sulfate precipitated.
BS 7755-3.11 is applicable to all types of air-dried soils, for example pretreated according to ISO 11464.
Who is BS 7755-3.11– Soil quality for?
BS 7755-3.11 on soil quality is relevant to:
- Chemical Engineer
- Researchers and scientists
- Microbiologists
Why should you use BS 7755-3.11– Soil quality?
The sulfate content of these extracts is determined by a gravimetric method in which barium chloride is added to the water or acid extract and the precipitate of barium sulfate is dried and weighed.
BS 7755-3.11 provides methods and procedures for determining the water soluble and acid soluble sulfates present in raw water.
BS 7755-3.11 specifies methods for measuring sulfates, sampling, and monitoring, and preparing samples for the testing methods.
As a result of the BS 7755-3.11, you can extract the water soluble and acid soluble sulfates from the soil, improving the fertility of the soil, making it more nourishing and promoting the growth of crops, and will be widely accepted by farmers worldwide.
