What is BS 799-3 - Automatic and semi-automatic atomizing oil burners about?
BS 799 is a European Standard series that discusses oil burning equipment. The purpose of BS 799 series is to provide best industry requirements for the safe and reliable operation of oil burners.
BS 799-3 is the third part of the multi-series standard that specifies requirements for materials from which all component parts of the oil burning equipment shall be constructed, and also deals with such points of component design and plant layout as are fundamental to the proper functioning of such equipment. The range of equipment includes:
- Automatic and semi-automatic oil burners of the monobloc type as defined in Part 6 of BS 799-3
- Dual fuel gas/oil burners when using fuel oil
Note: See Appendix A of BS 5885:1980. The standard is applicable to burners with firing rates up to 36 litres per hour that are suitable for either class C2 or class D fuels (see BS 2869) or both, as stated by the manufacturer.
Who is BS 799-3 - Automatic and semi-automatic atomizing oil burners for?
BS 799-3 on automatic and semi-automatic atomizing oil burners is useful for:
- Manufacturers and suppliers of atomizing oil burners
- Product designer engineers / innovation teams
- Companies involved with heat engineering technologies
- Quality control teams
- Installers
- Engineers
Why should you use BS 799-3 - Automatic and semi-automatic atomizing oil burners?
Atomized oil burners help in the breaking up of fuel oil particles into tiny droplets, allowing for the easy diffusion of oil within the furnace and maximizing combustion. As a result, there is a well-spread and strong flame.
BS 799-3 provides guidance on materials and component requirements along with operation of oil burners. Complying with these requirements can ensure adequate air supply to chambers, that oil is supplied to the burner at the correct rate, and risk of flame failures and electrical interruptions are minimized.
With the best industry requirements specified in BS 799-3, you can improve the efficiency and performance of atomizing oil burners.
As a manufacturer of atomizing oil burners, BS 799-3 guides you with best practices for manufacturing atomizing oil burners. This enables your customers to use long-lasting products that need minimal maintenance.
