What is BS AU 50-1.0.1 - Method of test for measuring tyre uniformity about?
BS AU 50-1.0.1 specifies test methods carried out under controlled conditions for verifying the uniformity of tyres for passenger cars, commercial vehicles and motorcycles.
Methods for measuring the geometrical run-out of the tyre in both radial and lateral directions are covered, as well as methods for measuring the following parameters:
- radial force variation
- lateral force variation
- ply steer
- conicity
Not all of these measurements will necessarily be relevant in every situation.
BS AU 50-1.0.1 does not include methods for measuring the static and the dynamic unbalance nor methods related to tyre-wheel assemblies.
The test methods specified in BS AU 50-1.0.1 are not intended for the gradation of tyres or the definition of quality levels.
Who is BS AU 50-1.0.1- Method of test for measuring tyre uniformity for?
BS 5173 -106.2 on methods of testing tyres is for:
- Rubber and tyre manufacturers and suppliers
- Automobile industry
- Entities dealing with tyres safety
- Test providers for tyres and automobiles
Why should you use BS AU 50-1.0.1 - Method of test for measuring tyre uniformity?
Uniformity is the state in which any characteristic of the tyre is constant in phase and magnitude in both static and dynamic conditions around the circumference.
BS AU 50-1.0.1 provides procedures and methods for testing and measuring tyre uniormity.
BS AU 50-1.0.1 specifies requirements and measurements for tyre testing such as tolerance, durability and strength ensuring tyre safety.
BS AU 50-1.0.1 provides you with apparatus, sampling, transport, storage, and preparation of test pieces, preparation of reagents and apparatus, pre-treatment of test pieces, test procedure, and much more.
The test methodologies given in BS AU 50-1.0.1 enable you to examine the tyres for any signs of deformation or delamination of reinforcement or lining, which contributes a lot to maintaining the high quality and efficient functioning of retarded tyres.
