Impact protection helmets for young children. | Status: Current, Under review

1 Scope This European Standard specifies requirements and test methods for helmets intended for use by young children while pursuing recreational activities in environments which have proven risks of head injuries in combination with risk of strangulation. Requirements and the corresponding methods of test are given for the following:

• — construction including field of vision;
• — shock absorbing properties;
• — retention system properties, including chin strap, fastening devices and self-release system;
• — marking and information.
