What is BS EN 12225 about?
BS EN 12225 discusses geosynthetics. Geosynthetics are synthetic products used to stabilize terrain. They are generally polymeric products used to solve civil engineering problems. BS EN 12225 specifies a method for the determination of the microbiological resistance of geosynthetics including those of natural fibres and biodegradable polymers by a soil burial test.
Who is BS EN 12225 for?
BS EN 12225 on geosynthetics is useful for:
- Geosynthetic manufacturing industries
- Soil testing institution for geosynthetic
- Quality control personnel
- Research and development facilities
Why should you use BS EN 12225?
Geosynthetic refers to a product that is made from a polymeric material and is applied as a key component in a structure or system to achieve engineering purposes. microbiological resistance is a resistance of a geotextile or geotextile-related product to attack by bacteria or fungi by a soil burial test. BS EN 12225 helps to the determination of the microbiological resistance of geosynthetics. BS EN 12225 provides the required guideline on conducting a soil burial test including, the principles used to perform the test, regents, and apparatus used, test climates, etc.
Determination of microbiological resistance in geosynthetics through soli burial test suggested under BS EN 12225 ensures the quality level and durability of the geosynthetics product as it is used by the civil engineers so the best durable geosynthetic product will last for a longer time and it provides the safety for the end-users. Using BS EN 12225 you can specify a method for the determination of the microbiological resistance of geosynthetics.
What is changed since the last update?
