What is BS EN 12562 – Para-aramid multifilament yarns about?
BS EN 12562 is an international standard that focuses on various test methods for textiles. BS EN 12562 specifies test methods applicable for para-aramid filament yarns designed for high-performance applications.
BS EN 12562 applies to para-aramid filament yarns for cables, ropes, belts, braids, and fabrics as used for sports, protective and industrial-textile applications, reinforced rubber goods, tires, etc. It is not applicable for para-aramid filament yarns for fibre reinforced composites.
Note: BS EN 12562 is not applicable for para-aramid filament yarns for fibre reinforced composites.
Who is BS EN 12562 – Para-aramid multifilament yarns for?
BS EN 12562 on test methods for para-aramid multifilament yarns is useful for:
- Textile manufacturer
- Clothing industries
- Textile testing laboratories
- Fabric quality assurance authorities
- Regulatory authorities
Why should you use BS EN 12562 – Para-aramid multifilament yarns?
Monofilament yarns are yarns consisting of a single filament. Fishing lines, 3d printing filaments, and strimmer wire are common examples of monofilaments. Monofilament yarns are produced using the same process as all other filament extrusions, given the same material.
BS EN 12562 refers to European standards that specify test requirements for para-aramid multifilament yarns for checking the quality of textiles. It gives the principle of test methods, sampling, atmospheres for pre-conditioning, conditioning, and testing of the test samples, which helps the users to get a clear idea of the test methods.
BS EN 12562 includes the following test methods:
- Determination of linear density
- Determination of breaking force, elongation at break, modulus, and force at specified elongation determination of twist
By adopting BS EN 12562, manufacturers can demonstrate the reliability and quality of the textiles.
