What is BS EN 12730 - Flexible sheets for waterproofing about?
BS EN 12730 is an international standard used for Flexible sheets for waterproofing that specifies the test methods for determining the resistivity of static load on the flexible sheet.
BS EN 12730 specifies a test for puncture by static loading for roofing membranes. Mechanical stress on membranes varies from static long-term loads to dynamic short-term loads. This method represents the static category of load where the stress is applied over a period of time.
Note: BS EN 12730 may also be applied for waterproofing.
Who is BS EN 12730 - Flexible sheets for waterproofing for?
BS EN 12730 on Flexible sheets for waterproofing is useful for:
- Manufacturers of flexible sheets
- Constructor of buildings
- Civil engineers
- Architects
- Interior designers
Why should you use BS EN 12730 - Flexible sheets for waterproofing?
A flexible sheet for waterproofing is a coating prepared from highly environmentally friendly modified polymer emulsion.
BS EN 12730 specifies the test method and test procedure for flexible sheets for waterproofing. This test method helps in determining the resistivity of static load on this flexible sheet. By using BS EN 12730 you can manufacture a good quality flexible sheet for roof proofing.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS EN 12730:2015 supersedes BS EN 12730:2001. BS EN 12730:2015 includes some technical changes with respect to BS EN 12730:2001. These include:
- Test Method C has been introduced in order to comply with extended experience gained in the use of plastic roofing sheets
- Additionally, a sample size reduction for Method B was introduced as well as an update specification of the soft support polystyrene (EPS) boards
