BS EN 12813:2004

Temporary works equipment. Load bearing towers of prefabricated components. Particular methods of structural design. | Status: Confirmed, Current

What is BS EN 12813 - Structural data for load-bearing towers about?

BS EN 12813 is one of a series of European standards that are considered under the general title of temporary works equipment.

BS EN 12813 describes how to establish structural data for load-bearing towers made from prefabricated components.

BS EN 12813 specifies two methods of analysis, first-order theory, and second-order theory.

Note: BS EN 12813 is not intended for towers constructed with tubes and couplers

Who is BS EN 12813 - Structural data for load-bearing towers for?

BS EN 12813 on particular methods of structural design for load-bearing towers of prefabricated components is useful for:

• Civil engineers
• Architects
• Real estate developers
• Construction contractors

Why should you use BS EN 12813 - Structural data for load-bearing towers?

Load-bearing towers are installed on a construction site to temporarily hold a platform or building structure.

BS EN 12813 describes methods for establishing structural data for stiffness and resistance by calculation supported by tests for load-bearing towers made of prefabricated components of steel or aluminium alloy. Overall, BS EN 12813 helps you to establish vertical load capacity, both with or without horizontal loads and with the top restrained or free.
