What is BS EN 14152-Determination of vitamin B2 in food by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) about?
BS EN 14152 is a European standard of foodstuffs that discusses the determination of vitamin B2 in foodstuffs by HPLC to enhance its nutritional value.
BS EN 14152 specifies a method for the determination of vitamin B2 in food by high performance liquid chromatography (HPLC) and fluorescence detection.
The method under BS EN 14152 has been validated in two interlaboratory studies.
The first study was for the analysis of samples of milk powder and pig's liver ranging from 1,45 mg/100 g to 10,68 mg/100 g.
The second study was for the analysis of samples of tube feeding solution, baby food, powdered milk, a meal with fruits, yeast, cereal and chocolate powder ranging from 0,21 mg/100 g to 87,1 mg/100 g. Vitamin B2 is the mass fraction of total riboflavin including its phosphorylated derivatives.
Who is BS EN 14152-Determination of vitamin B2 in foods by HPLC for?
BS EN 14152 on the determination of vitamin B2 in food by HPLC is useful for:
- Food scientists
- Food technologists
- Food laboratories
- Food health and safety departments
Why should you use BS EN 14152-Determination of vitamin B2 in food by HPLC?
Riboflavin (also called vitamin B2) is important for the growth, development, and function of the cells in your body. It also helps turn the food you eat into the energy you need.
BS EN 14152 provides you guidance with apparatus, procedures, preparation of the test sample, determination, calculation and precision.
The methods and procedures provided by BS EN 14152 assist you in the determination of vitamin B2 in foodstuffs by HPLC, improve the quality of foodstuffs and enhance the subsistent of vitamin B2 which help in red blood cell production and help the body to convert food (carbohydrates) into fuel (glucose).
With obedience and compliance to BS EN 14152, you can enhance the efficacy of the foodstuffs and manufacture a standardized high-quality product.
