What is BS EN 14511‑4- HVAC with Electrically driven compressors about?
BS EN 14511 discusses air conditioners, liquid chilling packages, and heat pumps for space heating and cooling and process chillers, HVAC with electrically driven compressors. BS EN 14511‑4 is the fourth part of BS EN 14511 multi-series and discusses operating requirements.
BS EN 14511‑4 applies to:
- Factory-made units that can be ducted,
- Factory-made liquid chilling packages with integral condensers or for use with remote condensers
- Factory-made units of either fixed capacity or variable capacity by any means, and
- Air-to-air air conditioners which can also evaporate the condensate on the condenser side
BS EN 14511‑4 applies only to those designed and supplied as a complete package, except for liquid chilling packages with remote condenser. BS EN 14511‑4 is primarily intended for water and brine chilling packages but can be used for other liquids subject to agreement
Who is BS EN 14511‑4- HVAC with Electrically driven compressors for?
BS EN 14511‑4 on air conditioners, liquid chilling packages and heat pumps for space heating and cooling and process chillers, HVAC with electrically driven compressors, is useful for:
- Air conditioners manufacturers
- Refrigerators manufacturers
- Heater manufacturers
- Compressor manufacturers
- Quality control personnel
Why should you use BS EN 14511‑4- HVAC with Electrically driven compressors?
For the system to operate as effectively as possible, oxygen is transported to the fuel-cell stack in the cathode path via the electric air compressor. The desired quantity of air is extracted from the ambient atmosphere and made available to the stack at the necessary pressure level for generating electricity.
BS EN 14511‑4 provides you the minimum operating requirements which ensure that air conditioners, heat pumps and liquid chilling packages using either air, water, or brine as heat transfer media, with electrical driven compressors are fit for the use designated by the manufacturer when used for space heating and/or cooling. BS EN 14511‑4 helps you to ensure the operational requirements of the equipment are met.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS EN 14511‑4:2018 supersedes BS EN 14511‑4:2013, which is withdrawn. BS EN 14511‑4:2018 includes a technical change with respect to BS EN 14511‑4:2013. That is:
- The revision and simplification of the tests
