What is BS EN 1822-1 - High-efficiency air filters about?
BS EN 1822-1 is the first part of the BS EN 1822 multi-series on high-efficiency air filters. The BS EN 1822 series applies to high efficiency particulate and ultra-low penetration air filters (EPA, HEPA and ULPA) used in the field of ventilation and air conditioning and for technical processes, e.g., for applications in clean room technology or pharmaceutical industry.
BS EN 1822-1 establishes a procedure for the determination of the efficiency of these filters on the basis of a particle counting method using a liquid (or alternatively a solid) test aerosol and allows a standardized classification of these filters in terms of their efficiency, both local and integral efficiency.
Who is BS EN 1822-1 - High-efficiency air filters for?
BS EN 1822-1 on high-efficiency air filters is useful for:
- Manufacturers and suppliers of high-efficiency air filters
- Pharmaceutical industries
- Entities involved with clean room technologies
- Product development engineers
- Quality control teams
Why should you use BS EN 1822-1 - High-efficiency air filters?
In some industries, such as in Pharmaceutical and Food, it is essential to ensure that the air quality meets the exacting demands for production. As a result, high-efficiency air filters need to be classified on the basis of their filtration efficiency.
BS EN 1822-1 walks you through the classification, performance-testing, and marking of high efficiency air filters.
BS EN 1822-1 allows a standardized classification of filters in terms of their efficiency, both local and integral. This helps to ensure the reduction of airborne contaminants (including viruses) in indoor working environments.
