What is BS EN 1965-1 - Structural adhesives about?
BS EN 1965-1 describes a method to determine the ability of a liquid adhesive to corrode a copper substrate under heat ageing conditions. Temperatures and ageing periods are chosen to ensure the maximum differentiation between the corrosivity of different adhesives and are not intended to represent any particular service condition.
Who is BS EN 1965-1- Structural adhesives for?
BS EN 1965-1 on structural adhesives is for:
- Adhesives manufacturers and suppliers
- Chemical engineer
- Scientists and researchers
- Manufacturers of wall coverings
Why should you use BS EN 1965-1 - Structural adhesives?
An abraded and polished copper substrate is coated with a thin film of the liquid adhesive and then aged for 24 h in dry heat at 50 °C or 100 °C. Following this the surface is examined and the extent of tarnishing and/or corrosion on the basis of discoloration.
BS EN 1965-1 provides different procedures and methods for determining and classifying corrosion to a copper substrate.
BS EN 1965-1 provides you with apparatus, sampling, transport, storage, and preparation of test pieces, preparation of reagents and apparatus, pre-treatment of test pieces, test procedure, and much more.
The specifications given in BS EN 1965-1 enable you to standardize the quality of adhesives which contributes a lot to maintaining the high quality and efficient functioning.
