What is BS EN 2565 - Carbon fibre reinforced resin panels for aerospace applications about?
Product and component quality is paramount for aerospace vessels. The delivery of high-quality components contributes to the safety of those on board. Carbon fibre reinforced resin panels are extremely strong and light fibre-reinforced plastics that contain carbon fibres. Carbon fibre reinforced resin panels can be expensive to produce but are commonly used wherever high strength-to-weight ratio and stiffness (rigidity) are required, such as aerospace, superstructures of ships, automotive, civil engineering, sports equipment, and an increasing number of consumer and technical applications.
BS EN 2565 specifies the preparation of panels with any desired fibre orientation of unidirectional
orientated carbon fibre or fabric with thermosetting resins. BS EN 2565 is used to describe recommended processes for the preparation of the panels from which test specimens subsequently are machined.
Note: Standard specimens prepared by using BS EN 2565 may be used either for evaluating the components i.e., the carbon reinforcement, finishes, resins, catalysts, curing agents, etc. or for verifying the overall quality of the finished products.
Who is BS EN 2565 - Carbon fibre reinforced resin panels for aerospace applications for?
BS EN 2565 on Carbon fibre reinforced resin panels for aerospace applications is useful for:
- The aerospace and defence industry
- Manufacturers of aerospace equipment and components
- Vendors / Manufacturers and suppliers of Carbon fibre reinforced resin panels for aerospace
- Purchase divisions / component sourcing personnel
- Product design engineers
- Aeronautical engineers
Why should you use BS EN 2565 - Carbon fibre reinforced resin panels for aerospace applications?
The demand for carbon fibre-reinforced resin panels in the aerospace industry is greater than ever. As a customer, you can benefit from the wide range of materials and expertise across all processing stages from fibres to the final lightweight structure. By using carbon fibre-reinforced resin panels in both primary and secondary structures, it is possible to save weight and at the same time achieve mechanical peak values in terms of strength and stiffness of the components.
BS EN 2565 provides you with procedure for preparation of panels with any desired fibre orientation of unidirectional orientated carbon fibre or fabric with thermosetting resins for aerospace so that the products are suitable for the required purpose.
The guidelines in BS EN 2565 contribute towards including high-quality components for aerospace that are responsible for smooth and safe functioning of vessels.
