What is BS EN 4165-015- Round chimney for electrical connectors about?
BS EN 4165-015 is a standard covering round chimney for electrical connectors, enabling operational stability and performance in aerospace applications.
BS EN 4165-015 defines the round chimney for accessories (1 per module cavity) used in the family of rectangular electrical connectors, 2 and 4 modules.
The connector accessory body corresponding to those round chimneys is defined in EN 4165-014.
BS EN 4165-015 covers the terms and definitions, required characteristics, round chimney accessories, designation, marking, and technical specifications of electrical connectors for use in electrical systems of aircraft.
BS EN 4165-015 has been prepared by the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe - Standardization (ASD-STAN).
Who is BS EN 4165-015- Round chimney for electrical connectors for?
BS EN 4165-015 on the round chimney for electrical connectors is useful for:
- Spacecraft and space products manufacturers
- Aerospace products manufacturers
- Testing agencies involved in the inspection of spacecraft and aerospace products
- Quality control personnel for spacecraft products
- Aeronautical engineers
Why should you use BS EN 4165-015- Round chimney for electrical connectors?
An electrical connector is a device that connects two active devices to transmit current or signals. They are made from materials that suit their intended purpose and are designed to provide safe use.
Using BS EN 4165-015, manufacturers can demonstrate the reliability of their products and build trust in their use throughout the aerospace supply chain. Quality assurance measurements in BS EN 4165-015 ensures that the approaches, techniques, methods, and processes designed for the aircraft electrical systems are implemented correctly.
BS EN 4165-002 provides users guidance on operating conditions, including different combinations such as plugs, receptacles, protective covers, connectors, accessories, chimney, and more, ensuring operational stability in aerospace applications.
With the adoption of BS EN 4165-015, users can develop and assess the operability, combinations and connectivity for round chimney and electrical connectors, ensuring safety, performance and longevity in aerospace applications.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS EN 4165-015:2015 supersedes BS EN 4165-002:2007, which is now withdrawn.
