What is BS EN 4830-001- Technical specification for electrical connectors about?
Aerospace is a term used to collectively refer to the atmosphere and outer space. BS EN 4830-001 specifies the general characteristics, the conditions for qualification, acceptance, and quality assurance, as well as the test programs and groups for EN 4165 rectangular connectors with removable optical modules using EN 4639-10X contacts.
This family of fibre optic connectors is derived from EN 4165-001 with EN 4639-10X optical contacts. BS EN 4830-001 is suitable for use on aerospace onboard applications. BS EN 4830-001 provides easy access for optical contact end face cleaning. BS EN 4830-001 has been prepared by the Aerospace and Defence Industries Association of Europe-Standardization (ASD-STAN).
Who is BS EN 4830-001 - Technical specification for electrical connectors for?
BS EN 4830-001 on the technical specification for electrical connectors is useful for:
- Spacecraft and space products manufacturers
- Aerospace industries
- Testing agencies involved in the inspection of spacecraft and aerospace products
- Quality control personnel for spacecraft products
- Aeronautical engineers
- Space researchers
Why should you use BS EN 4830-001 - Technical specification for electrical connectors?
An electrical connector is a device that connects two active devices to transmit current or signals. Receptacles provide reliable protection for all types of de-coupled connectors.
The guidelines provided in BS EN 4830-001 helps to select the right receptacles as well as a connector as they improve the production process and if an electronic component fails, the failed component can be replaced when an electrical connector is installed. BS EN 4830-001 covers the terms and definitions, required characteristics, designation, markings, and technical specifications of the electrical connector with rectangular inserts on the receptacle.
BS EN 4830-001 helps design engineers in designing electrical connectors as per specifications that enhance the reliability of their products. By adopting BS EN 4830-001, manufacturers can demonstrate the reliability of their products and build trust in their use throughout the aerospace supply chain. Using BS EN 4830-001 you can specify the general characteristics, the conditions for qualification, acceptance, and quality assurance, as well as the test programs and groups for EN 4165 rectangular connectors with removable optical modules using EN 4639-10X contacts.
