What is BS EN 60068-3-5 on Environmental testing about?
BS EN 60068-3-5 is the fifth part of an international standard that covers guidelines and supporting documentation for environmental testing.
BS EN 60068-3-5 provides a uniform and reproducible method of confirming that temperature test chambers, without specimens, conform to the requirements specified in climatic test procedures of IEC 60068-2 (all parts).
BS EN 60068-3-5 specifies terms, definitions, measuring chamber performances, temperature measurement methods, performance test reports, etc., for ensuring the performance of temperature chambers.
Note: BS EN 60068-3-5 is intended for users when conducting regular chamber performance monitoring.
Who is BS EN 60068-3-5 on Environmental testing for?
BS EN 60068-3-5 on environmental testing is useful for:
- Chemical industries
- Testing laboratories
- Environmental testing industries
- Industrial equipment manufacturers
- Packaging industries
Why should you use BS EN 60068-3-5 on Environmental testing?
Environmental testing consists of the natural and artificial environments to which components or equipment are exposed. An assessment is done for the performance of components under certain conditions, transport, and storage to which they may be exposed in real-time.
BS EN 60068-3-5 gives you a detailed test procedure that is useful to verify the performance of temperature chambers. It provides you with a temperature measurement system and test specimens to analyze the performance of temperature chambers under varying climatic conditions.
BS EN 60068-3-5 contributes to the assessment of temperature chambers as there are not many publications that attend this aspect of environmental testing. BS EN 60068-3-5 bridges this gap and provides the method of maintaining and measuring temperature, along with examining the physical characteristics of temperature chambers as it has a great influence on test results.
What’s changed since the last update?
BS EN 60068-3-5:2018 supersedes BS EN 60068-3-5:2002, which will be withdrawn. BS EN 60068-3-5:2018 has been re-dated with the addition of clarification of confirmation procedures, with respect to the previous edition.
