What is BS EN 603‑3 about?
BS EN 603‑3 is the third part of a series of documents on aluminium and aluminium alloys. BS EN 603‑3 specifies the tolerances on dimensions and form of wrought aluminium and aluminium alloy forging stock.
BS EN 603‑3 applies to extruded and rolled products. BS EN 603‑3 specifies classifications, designations and alloy groups requirements for alloyed aluminium wrought forging.
Who is BS EN 603‑3 for?
BS EN 603-3 on aluminium and aluminium alloys is relevant to:
- Manufacturers and suppliers of aluminium and aluminium alloys
- Aluminium technology centres and R&D laboratories
Why should you use BS EN 603‑3?
Forging is a manufacturing process involving the shaping of metal through hammering, pressing, or rolling. Stock is a section or a piece of metal used to make a forging.
BS EN 603‑3 provides information on alloys, alloy groups, chemical composition, types of bars, perpendicularity of cut ends, tolerances on dimensions and form of wrought aluminium and aluminium alloy forging stock.
BS EN 603‑3 provide guidance to the user to manufacture high-quality aluminium and aluminium alloy, which will wider the market reach for the product. It also helps the manufacturer to build customers trust and confidence in the product. With BS EN 603‑3 you can be ensured that the products consistently meet and exceed quality assurance targets.
